Tax Preparation & Planning

Federal returns, Florida filings, and year-round planning — all from the same team that keeps your books.

What we handle

Federal Returns, Florida Filings, and a Plan for Next Year

Tax prep, planning, and IRS representation for Florida construction, contractors, and trades — one team, no handoffs between vendors.

  • Federal Tax Return Preparation

Preparation and filing for sole proprietorships, partnerships, LLCs, and S corporations. Every return starts with books Ian already knows — so month-end close rolls straight into the return. Before filing, Ian walks you through the return so you understand what's in it and why.

  • Florida Sales Tax & Compliance

Calculation, reporting, and filing with the Florida Department of Revenue — including local surtaxes and exemption handling on materials, subcontractor work, and mixed-use transactions.

  • Strategic Tax Planning

Estimated-payment forecasting, depreciation strategy, retirement contributions, and structural moves that happen before year-end — not after. Deduction optimization runs through the books all year, and you have a direct line to Ian for mid-year questions on estimated payments, payroll tax, or structural decisions as they come up.

  • IRS Representation & Defense

As an IRS Enrolled Agent, Ian is federally authorized to represent you before the IRS — the same tier of practice rights CPAs and attorneys hold. If an inquiry or audit comes up, he handles documentation, communication, and resolution.

Year-round approach

Tax Work That Doesn't Stop When the Return Is Filed

Most firms are event-driven — you drop off records in February, pick up a return in April, and hear nothing until next year. We treat tax as a year-round conversation.

  1. Jan – Feb

    Books Close on Last Year

December close rolls straight into return prep. No rediscovery of what happened.

  2. Mar – Apr

    File & Walk Through

Return filed with a walkthrough call, so you know exactly what's in it and why.

  3. May – Aug

    Mid-Year Review

Q1 and Q2 estimated payments filed. Actuals reviewed against projections.

  4. Sep – Oct

    Planning Session

Depreciation, retirement, and structural moves lined up before Q4.

  5. Nov – Dec

    Year-End Moves

Section 179, bonus depreciation, and timing decisions executed before Dec 31.

Who we work with

Who This Is a Good Fit For

We focus primarily on Florida construction, contractors, and the trades in the $1M–$5M range. We're direct about fit before you engage.

  • You run an S-corp, LLC, partnership, or sole prop in the Florida construction, contracting, or specialty-trades space.
  • You want tax and books under one team — or you need help untangling what's currently in QuickBooks.
  • You'd rather plan for tax year-round than react in April with no time to adjust.
  • You need a team that handles Florida sales tax without punting to another vendor.
  • You value IRS representation — Ian is a federally authorized Enrolled Agent.
  • You want a preparer who understands job costing, not generic small-business templates.
